Kazbegi is located in northwestern Georgia, 120 km from Tbilisi. Stepantsminda – the administrative centre of Kazbegi Municipality – is situated at the height of 1,750 m a.s.l. The municipality houses the most popular ski resort in Georgia - Gudauri.
The main attraction of the region is Gergeti Holy Trinity Church of the 16^th century AD (2000 m a.s.l) that matches perfectly the mountain landscape.
Kazbegi also boasts the third highest glacier in Georgia (5,048 m a.s.l) that is extremely popular with local and foreign climbers.
