Mtskheta- the town and the municipality in Georgia with population slightly more than 8,000 people. Local historical monuments are inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List. Before the 6th century AD, Mtskheta used to be the capital of Georgia. Today, the town is the main religious centre of the country, housing the main church and symbol of Orthodox Christianity in Georgia – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
